History

The Cilento through numerous municipalities of the coast and inland, from Agropoli (pirate stronghold Saracens), Sapri and then again towards the inside, on the border with Basilicata. In addition to the many scenic places of interest, such as National Park of Cilento and Vallo di Diano , the second largest national park in Italy recognized world heritage site by the UNESCO , the Mount Gelbison, rivers and Alento Heat and the oasis of Persia, are also archaeological, artistic and cultural importance. From the ruins of Paestum and Velia , the Museum of the Sea of ??Pollica, places of worship such as the Sanctuary of Capaccio to water mills of Vibonati.

One of the richest areas of scenic beauty, where nature often appears in its pristine splendor, but also one of the poorest areas of the country, for the harshness of the territory and the dryness of the soil; the local vines , introduced to Elea and Paestum by ancient Greek colonizers , found in clayey-calcareous soil and climate conditions of the area to better express their personality.

The screws produce few grapes from which wines are of excellent quality, which perfectly match the typical Cilento "poor", simple, but yummy: the fusiddi, cavatieddi and migliatieddi , struffoli, etc.
